USAID

For many years hundreds people and organizations have given back to people in need throughout the world weather it be food, clean water, medical attention, education. Laws have been put in place to better distribute the aid. Despite many people's help there is still debate on what exactly should be given. The author goes directly into the problem the USAID is facing right now. Some say that money should be given to the needy because they know what is better for them to buy while some still believe that food should only be given and it should not change. They are given plastic cards similar to credit cards where they can spend their money on food and other useful supplies. On top of that directors of the USAID program are limited on what they can buy because of their budget. If they were able to buy food outside the US then they could better spend their money and get more food and supplies to those suffering. I agree with the USAID organization that not only should they be given the option to receive food or money buy food should available to purchase outside the country. The natives of the country know what they are lacking in and what will best suffice for their needs. I have personally volunteered with many food banks and shelters and I can see the uncertainty is many people's face. We do not understand the needs of the people. The supplies should be available for the people to choose and they should also have the option to receive cards just like the people assisted by the USAID.
