Abortion

Once again the topic of abortion has been brought up. It has been made illegal after 20 weeks of pregnancy and both the democrat and republican parties constantly dispute over the age of the fetus. Democrats say that this is just another part of the "war for women" for getting equal right like lay for example. The constant arguments of abortion are more than just giving women equal rights. It is not just about protecting the rights of the mother to choose whether or not she wants to give birth but to protect the rights of a child.

Protecting children is an innate quality  instilled in most of us and is one reason why many believe abortion should be banned. We deprive an innocent child of his or her rights to live freely. Also if abortion were to become illegal completely we would strip the mother of her rights as well. She no longer has the option to decide to go with the pregnancy. Many expectant mothers cannot physically handle giving birth. And unfortunately there are many more who have become pregnant unwillingly and making abortion illegal would force them to give birth. Abortion should be legal to some extent. It can only take place after a certain amount of weeks and only be allowed in certain circumstances. Abortion is constantly disputed between many parties and no matter the decision there will always be controversy but the choice to abort the baby or continue the process if one that should be decided by the mother.

  1. This would have been a good topic to talk about for that decision essay we recently wrote. I like how you incorporate facts from the article into your own commentary, instead of just summarizing like most other people. You seem to be arguing for both sides of the topic and I have no idea if it's done on purpose or on accident.
